The Sato Project's Use of Funds and Financial Information

80% of 2016 expenses went directly towards rescue and spay/neuter programs

2016 Total Operating Expenses: $853,239. Through the leadership of our Board of Directors, The Sato Project continues to have strong financial results and a clean audit. The Sato Project strives to keep administrative costs to a minimum to maximize the impact of our supporter’s contributions, and as a result, our general and administrative expense ratio for the past year (20%) remains below the national average of 25% for charities. This ratio increased slightly in 2016 due to investments in the sustainability of our organization, as well as expenses for our first (profitable) gala fundraiser to celebrate our 5th anniversary. We rely primarily on individual contributions for our funding, and are tremendously grateful to our donors who are helping us save the lives of the special satos of Puerto Rico. The Sato Project is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Gifts made to The Sato Project are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. EIN: 45-3743534.
