Boomer

Boomer took his Freedom Flight on July 5th, 2020. Thank you to all of his Foster From Afar donors for helping us change his life forever.

Boomer had very big shoes to fill. This scruffy pup was sitting on death row at the municipal shelter in Ponce when we showed up to pull dogs from the earthquake zone to fly them to shelter partners in NJ. It was not supposed to be a rescue mission, but rather, an emergency evacuation. But Chrissy couldn’t keep her eyes off him. She not only welcomed him into The Sato Project, but also named him for her late sato Boom Boom, the inspiration behind the organization. The new Boomer seemed to count his blessings daily; he was full of life and spent all day playing. He couldn’t wait to fly to his forever family as soon as the coronavirus quarantine and flight restrictions ended.

Little did Boomer know when we pulled him from the municipal shelter in Ponce that he was destined to be a New Yorker. Thanks to your support, this scruffy pup now lives on the Lower East Side of New York City with his mom and dad. When Boomer first came off the airplane, he was a little shy. But as soon as he met his parents, it was love at first site. Now, Boomer is a wiggle worm who loves to play with his countless toys and is getting more and more comfortable with the sights and sounds of the city each day.

Boomer was all smiles when he met his parents at the airport:
